The Homepage of Daniel Hollands: Web Development Graduate!
Over the years that I’ve tried to maintain and blog and/orĀ personal home page, I’ve written lots of different ‘about’ pages – each of which I’ve then gone back to months later, only to be disgusted at myself for making them tacky!
Don’t get me wrong, I’ve never gone to the lengths of talking about my cats and their favourite food (probably because I don’t have any), but I have laid down a whole load of bullshit.
Not this time, I hope. Here goes…

Not as cute as I was 30 years ago...
OK, so I’m a guy, I’m 30 years old, and have just finished studying at the University of Worcester. I’ve had an interest in the World Wide Web since the late 90s, and upon completing my Web Development degree, I hope to be one step closer to a career within the web industry.
I’ve got skills in PHP and MySQL development, am learning advanced CSS techniques, and am slowly discovering that I’ve got an interest in web accessibility and usability – something which I’m now considering to try and follow as a career.
Although I don’t really expect anyone to ever visit this site, I’m using it as a semi-personal, semi-professional, log of what I’m up to. You’ll not really find too many personal posts on here (you’re better off checking my Twitter account for that type of info), rather expect to find posts relating to my technical abilities and work that I’ve completed.
The genesis of this edition of the site lay in one of my modules at university. Part of the module involved posting messages about every activity we complete. I liked the idea so much that I started to do the same for a second module, and decided it would also be a good idea to post about my Independent Study when I get started on that also. And well, seeing as it’s here, I figure I might as well use it to post other things too.
That’s about it – not too tacky, right?
