I don’t know about you, but personally I think that the focus group I hosted on Thursday was a huge success.

Out of the 15 or so people that I invited, seven confirmed their attendance, but only five turned up. This wasn’t a major issue however as the five I had obviously had their thinking heads on. We were even graced with the presence of my Independent Study Advisor, the wonderful Sue, who sat in and observed the first half.

I started with a presentation which explained the purpose behind the focus group, the general idea behind the site, and the list of four points which were to be discussed. Once that was out of the way and we got started, I don’t think there was a single silent second as lots of ideas were brought forward. Some ideas were great – and some maybe not so great – but most totally new to me. I can only imagine it was all due to the excellent catering provided by Sofi, giving everyone food for thought!

Now I’ve got two audio files with a total length of 84 minutes which will need to be transcribed (once again, thank you Sofi), and then used to update the specification. Not all of the ideas put forward will be able to be used, and some even conflict with others, but hopefully I should be able to choose the best, and maybe create a separate list of ideas for future editions of the site.
