OK, now that I’m nearing the end *cough* of the research phase *cough* of my Independent Study, the next task for me to perform is that of a focus group. The point of the focus group is to gain some primary research for the project, and to help me understand what its potential users will want from the site.

The event itself should take between two to four hours to complete, and although there is a specific set list of things to discuss (such as how the path system should work), some of the time will be spent on generating new ideas.

So, I’m looking for volunteers. I need people based in Worcester (or who don’t mind travelling to Worcester), that ideally should have an interest in fiction (either reading or writing), but this is not a requirement. (more…)

It might seem like a long time, four months until my Independent Study is due in, but already I can feel the pinch. I don’t know if it’s too soon to start worrying or not – but I am!

Although I started around a month and a half ago, I’m not sure that I’ve done as much as I could have in that time. I’ve done some planning, worked out what research I need to do, and keep coming up with cool new ideas for the site (and promotion, although promotion in itself is not part of the project), I don’t truly feel like I’ve started.
